What Inspires You

My statement submission for the What Inspires You book project they are putting together at work.

We each had to hand-write a short statement of what inspires us on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper for a book they are putting together here at the studio. Each person has their own personalized page with their statement + head shot to go along with it.

Can't wait to see the finished book + everyone else's submissions...

Twitter status - 3:31 PM EST, 12 Feb 2k10:
"Thinking of my husband + family. We just found out his maternal grandpa passed away from a heart attack. Life is too short. Hug your family."

We went up to Michigan for a few days in February to attend the funeral of J's grandfather + spend quality time with his family. This was my first time being in the state. It's also where J was born, so a lot of his family were still living in the area. It was nice to meet more folks from his mom's side of the family.

I really felt for J's grandma as she just lost her best friend + was obviously very upset about it all. She is the sweetest thing + I did what I could to be there for her. The best thing to do in times like these is just being there.

One of the better videos out there of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club courtesy of spinner. Love the style it's shot in.

They roll out four songs:

• Berlin
• Weapon of Choice
• Rise or Fall

Would love to check out the trees this weekend, but I know it's going to be nutty + crowded with tourists.

Luckily for us, the blossoms are planted everywhere in Capitol Hill. Maybe we'll head out to the Tidal Basin in the evening when all is hopefully silent...

@WhatIveRead

Since I've started taking the metro to work, I've garnered a bit of "free time" that I've never had before. At first, I would listen to my mp3 player to help pass the time, but that began to get old really quickly. Also, with certain recurring riff raff going on in close proximity + with the recent reports of electronic theft, I wanted to make sure I had full attention of what was going on around me.

So, I started reading more. I realized that, over time, I would need to refer back to the articles I've read, but couldn't remember where to find it. Because of this, I drafted a blog post with a list of all the articles I've read so far, but after thinking about it some more I decided to create a twitter account that would house all of these articles by posting one link per twitter update.

Thus, http://twitter.com/whativeread was created.

I only started out with a few articles that I have bookmarked, but there are many more that I still need to post. Edit: All articles are now posted.

This is for my own personal record, but feel free to follow along if you please.
