Thursday night = me time
So, Joshua has night class on Thursdays, which gives me the good opportunity for ME time. Trust me, I love the hubby very much, but even Jesus had to separate himself from his disciples. [True story, haha.]
So, last Thursday, what did I do? Well, I got home from work, traffic, + more traffic, got myself something to eat, showered, then sat myself down in front of the tube to watch Aladdin. You heard right. It's one of my all-time favourite animated movies--that + The Prince of Egypt. It's nostalgia at it's best. I remember Aladdin being SO cute. [Brunettes--go fig?] I remember reciting ALL the words to the script + singing ALL the words to the soundtrack. I remember the impressively CG-animated flying carpet to be all the rage of graphics technology during the year of 1993. I just finished my freshman year in high school at the time, which meant the movie came out during the summer of '93, which meant NO SCHOOL. Woohah! Dang, I miss having 3 whole months of no [home]work. That's when me, my bro, + my sis went to cheap, matinee times [plural!] to see Aladdin when it first came out. Yeh, we watched it more than once! That's when ghetto AMC 24 used to be the *big* AMC 8 across from Regency mall.
You should have seen me Thursday night. I was singing along during certain scenes of the movie. Good thing we've got 1940s thick walls in our building.
Now, I need to make plans for tonight. Another DVD night? Add more eye candy to flickr night? Finally finish writing + sending out my wedding thank you cards? I don't have cable, so TV is most likely out of the picture. I would love to watch Smallville tonight. Dang, I am so behind in my Smallville episodes, or rather SEASONS, that I feel I shouldn't watch the season premiere tonight. Last I watched, Clark ran away with this Clark-obsessed girl with huge dimples who can disperse through walls + Chloe found out about Clark's well-kept secret. I don't even think I watched all of Season 2. Now, listen to tonight's new episode premise, which is the first of Season 5 [3 seasons ahead!]:
Arrival
Season Premiere | Thursday, Sep 29 8/7c
Having been transported to the Fortress of Solitude, Clark (Tom Welling) is confronted by Jor-El, who tells him he cannot return to Smallville, instead he must stay and prepare to save the planet. Also, transported to the Fortress, Chloe (Allison Mack) is unable to handle the sub-zero temperature and collapses, begging Clark to use his powers to save her. Jor-El forbids him to leave, but finally acquiesces, telling Clark he must return before sunset or there will be dire consequences. Meanwhile, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) is horrified when she sees two Kryptonian aliens emerge from a spaceship discovered in the remnants of the meteor shower. The two aliens destroy what's left of the town searching for Kal-El.
Man. I don't even know if our 3 channels has the WB. Need cable now--or just that channel. I know, somebody buy me Seasons 2 through 4! Or at least let me borrow them. ^_^
Off to lunch...
P.S.
Thanks to all who offered their suggestions to name our two new betta fish! We still haven't decided yet. Since they are fighting fish + are both male, I just thought of 2 great names to use--Ken + Ryu--but, I don't think Joshua would relate. ;)
