Month in Review

LOTS + lots of things happening since I last wrote, as usuale, so I will digest them in list format here:

    Apr.28

    • Started going to the girls weekly bible study @ Liz's house. It's interesting. I seriously need to get the Message Bible--one I can actually comprehend.

    Apr.30 to May.08

    • West End Village, Grand Bahama Island Mission Trip. More later.
    • I am hooked on apples. No, the fruit, sillies. The sound of sturdy bone of teeth breaking through the crisp skin of a red or golden delicious apple is as appealing as the crack of a freshly opened soda can.

    May.05

    • I am SICK, complete with a raspy voice in the middle of an island. :P Can't exactly call it a cold, but it feels as if there is a big slug in my throat down to my chest. Some say I should have worn a mask while we were installing drywall at the West End triplex. Some call my altered voice sexy. I call it annoying.

    May.10

    • YES! Received my 3rd annual review at work + got a promotion. ^_^ "Good things [have +] are coming our way."

    May.11

    • CONGRATS to Avonn, who started her new job today. Hope she likes this one better than the last two.

    May.12

    • Mute Math / Innervibe show @ Jack Rabbits. First time viewing + awesome energy from that mangey N'awlins band called Mute Math. The are signed, but bear no shame to use their old, tried + true instruments. So old, that the drummer had a big chip out of one of his cymbals. So old, that he duct taped his monitors around his head. Dude, the singer played a keytar + rocked it with no conscience whatsoever! Now, that's high qualitaaay. My old friend Randy from the ViRGOS days recommended the band to me, so I checked out their music via their website + liked what I heard. Scott, a friend of ours who performed at our wedding, highly recommended them as well. His band, Innervibe, played that night after Mute Math. It was awesome to see his band for the first time, too. Good things.

    May.14

    • Hung out with my parental units at the old home + ate yummy burgers et fries at the kitchen table. I love them.
    • Went to The K's for a big get-together. Lots of ladies, but only two dudes? I love them all, too.

    May.16

    • Monday meetings, meetings, + more meetings. Who has time for meetings?
    • *CONGRATS*, Debbie D, on graduating high school from my alma mater! I never thought I'd say this but, boy, do I feel old. High school was one year shy of a decade ago. We all had dinner at the infamous Golden Corral. Yummy free food, merci beaucoup to her parents.

    May.21

    • Choir recording for the new Access CD project at the church. I've been in recording studios twice before in my lifetime, but this was the first time I was actually not the one watching those being recorded. I tried my best to sing as loud as I could + sustain those notes as long as I could. I'm annoyingly still recovering from sore throat trauma. You know the type--coughing with that low gutteral lung-cough that you could hear a mile away. Yes, this is the same cough I inherited while on the island of Grand Bahama. I consider it a sort of souvenir.

    May.25

    • We are now internet powered + cable ready. But, I already told you that.

    May.27

    • Watching Raiders of the Lost Ark on a big screen next to a beach in nighttime balmy weather is next to ultimate bliss.

    May.28 to May.30

    • Hoorah for 3-day weekends!

    May.29

    • My sis is rolling over one year today! Happy *early* Boithday, te!

Interneten das gude!

*woohah*
We finally have high speed internet at my new home! The guy came over last night to install everything, so we're pleased. Finally, a way to connect us to the outside world, haha. We also have cable, which can be oh-so-very-bad for us. I came home late last night [the workload has been heavy lately at the office] then Joshua + I sat in front of the tube to check out what channels we have. We ordered basic cable, but it appears that the cable fairyman has granted us with extended basic cable complete with 75 chizzzannels... hmm. Hope they don't charge us extra in the end since it is not what we initially asked for. If not, bless you, good cable guy! ;)

Anyway, thirty minutes became an hour. An hour became two hours + a half. Fight Club was on, but I couldn't watch it since J has not seen it yet + it was well towards the middle-end of the movie. Dang, such a good flic. I need to borrow that from my sis so he can get learn-ed! We flipped through MTV Road Rules, Life with the Barkers, Animal Planet, the WB, American Idol, Fresh Prince, Roseanne, Original Sin... Before you know it, we spent a whole 2.5 hours just flipping through channels. That's it. It wasn't set on a definite channel for more than 5 minutes. You can tell we both have not watched tv in awhile. I was actually stopping to view commercials I have not seen, for crying out loud. Yep, cable-deprived people need an automatic 'off' feature when there are things to do... like go to sleep.

Will post more later on my week-long West End Village trip... stay tuned, if you dare.
