t minus some odd hours till t-day
Not much to say except that I hope whoever is reading this will have a splendid Thanksgiving this year. ^_^
I am stuck at the office blasting to SP's "Adore" [forgotten how much I loved that album] waiting for the hubby + our friend Derrick, who flew up all the way from Jax to spend Turkey Day with us, to pick me up. Joshua is busy working on a VIP [Very Important Paper] that he needs to submit ASAP + so I told him to go ahead + work on that before he picks me up. Well, I am gettin' hungry, so I hope they get here ASAP. Don't know what we will be doing tonight. Probably go out to eat din din. I know mah tummy agrees with that plan.
Tomorrow, my coworker, Lynn, invited us to join her, her HUGE family, + her friends [about 40-some people total!!] at their house for Thanksgiving because she knew I was going to be away from my family for the holiday. So nice of her to do that. :) She promises an abundance of food, lots of smiling, talkative people, + BINGO. How fun! :D I haven't played BINGO since I visited my family in the Philippines. My lolo [grandpa] + lola [grandma... love you!] used to play that all the time--with the whole family, too! Well, Lynn's sis' house is an hour's drive away, but I have a hunch it will be worth it. FOOD is worth it. Ya heard. It will be a new + fun experience, too.
We'll most likely have our own little Thanksgiving with me, J, + D at our house on Friday... complete with pineappled ham, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, green beans in almonds, baked buttered biscuits, Caesar salad, pumpkin pie, cherry pie, + a bunch of other things I can't think of right now [it's just sheer torture to my tummy to think about our Thanksgiving dinner list]. We decided not to do turkey this year. Yeh, I know--GASP, right? Well, not really. It's too big for the three of us to handle + I don't want it to go to waste. I figured we'll have turkey at Lynn's party anyway. I may attempt to make an almond chicken dish taken from the Kraft Foods newsletter [right, te?], hahah.
Anyway, I think I'm done with this post. I will have to call my family soon. This will be my first Thanksgiving away from them, but it is also my first Thanksgiving with the hubby. We even have a medium-sized Christmas tree complete with ornaments [c/o J's family--it was given to us for our birthdays this year, haha] that we'll put up this weekend. Things are different, but they'll still be fun.
Cheers to everyone. I actually did have a lot to say.
