Coming out of my cage...
So, I started this blog entry last week + never finished it. Might as well post it since it's been sparse around here lately:
It sucks when I get in a sour mood + I'm not sure why I feel this way. Can't blame it on being a member of the female species either. I've just been cranky for the past few days for some unknown reason. I was tired last night, but could not bring myself to sleep. :P So yeh, it was a late night on the computer.
A large cup of strong coffee later...
Um, where do I start? Me + the Mr. made our third [or is it the fourth?] trip to IKEA last Saturday. IKEA truly makes me happy with its nice prices + contemporary design, but the dang store makes me restless at the same time. I know there is a lot that I cannot get until we actually own a place [because moving a load of junk SUCKS], so I have to bottle my inner interior designer for the time being. ^_^ My initial goal was to get some plastic plates that were cheap, but nice. Thin, inexpensive, plastic, microwaveable plates. The plates that J adopted from his old "Harbunks" [as my bro would say] are too heavy + stack up high in our one basin sink, so I wanted an better alternative for everday use like me + my family used to have. The nice Pottery Barn plate set that we got for our wedding is considered our "china set", so we don't use it but for special circumstances. ;) So, I started my search. Target had slim pickins AND they were not microwaveable. Dang melamine. The closest Wal*Mart around these parts is 45 minutes away. So, of course, I sold my pitch to the mister to make a trip to IKEA + eventually he bit. :) [haha]
He brought his books + sat in the cafe while I happily hopped around IKEA. I took my digital camera with me to take photo notes of things that I liked, either for interior design's sake or for realistic purchases. I managed to find some microwaveable plates + bowls that came in red + black. There were slim pickins as far as plastic plates went, so I was a bit disappointed in the lack of choices. I picked up 2 red plates, 2 black plates, + 1 bowl in both colours. They are not as flat as I would have wanted, but they'll do. :)

Moving along... after some odd hours later, I ran into J who was wondering why it took me so long to find plastic plates. We make our way downstairs to check out the little things when the topic of a garage sale came up. I have been wanting a new couch for quite some time, but we both agreed that we wouldn't get one until we actually bought a place to live, which is years from now. He mentioned that we will just have to scour through various garage sales to see if anyone is selling a nice, comfy couch. Then, IKEA's "As Is" department caught our eye. It never did before, but today it did. That's where we found our new piece of cushy furniture.
It was in great condition save for the scuff marks on the cushions--no broken pieces whatsoever. It came without a couch cover + we already had a nice one from our wedding, so we were set. We managed to get it for 200 bones, too. Cannot beat that at a garage sale! Do I love sitting on the couch now? Yes, yes I do. :D Even better was that I was able to fit it into my ride. One of my coworkers said to me about IKEA, "You get so wrapped up in buying all these things at IKEA, but through it all you don't even realize how you are going to get it all home." Luckily, I have a big car. ^_^So, back to now...
Tonight is movie night at J's campus. The Constant Gardener, starring Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz, is playing tonight with FREE PIZZA [two very good words used in conjunction with each other] + refreshments with an optional discussion to follow. This should be interesting. Makes me miss Access218 so much.Still at work, so I got to get going going gone. As Gen would say, "That's all I got for now. My brain is on empty." Bonsoir.

YAY! A post! Let me know how the movie is. I've heard good things about it. Also, Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Bettany are rumored to be in the next Batman with Christian Bale. Hurrah!
