I can't believe I'm saying this, but...

...the new The Strokes album isn't too shabby.

*gaaasp*

There. I said it. For shame!   :B

Oh yeh, M.I.A. is pretty good after 10 listens, too.   ;)

Big up to Mila for letting me borrow her CDs. I'll have to take her advice + listen to M.I.A. while working out... that is, whenever I actually pick my butt up to work out.

Some other bands I've been listening lately...

  • The Knife
  • Artic Monkeys
  • Snow Patrol
  • Franz Ferdinand
  • Subways
  • Mogwai
  • Black Eyed Peas [I had to re-learn to like them ever since they added that Fergy chick. It was hard to warm up to her as well as their new style of writing songs. What hump? Whose bumps? What?? *skip* Or *uncheck* for you iTunes users.]

P.S.
I love MO + Amandita!

It's been awhile...

  • I met my new month-fresh nephew over the long weekend. I loved babysitting him + spending time with him. He is a treat to watch.
  • My niece has such an adorable, addicting smile. She is growing up so fast.
  • Being with my family was much fun + laughs.
  • Catching up with my sisters + brother was good times.
  • Gine + IKEA = funny. ;)
  • I've been dreaming of the beach lately.
  • I hate being lazy enough to not exercise.
  • I received the invitation to my 10-year high school reunion. Dang!
  • J's folks + lil' sis drove into town last week. It was fun showing them around our new city + visiting new museums. Also, kids say the darndest things, don't they?
  • I moved into a quieter, bigger, but odd hexagon-shaped room at the office.
  • Me + J have come to the conclusion that DC water is bad for betta fish. :(
  • I can't believe how old we're all getting. It's both frightening + exciting.
  • I got to live a full day in the life of my sis-in-law. Yeh, we're sticking to our "5 Year Plan". ;)
  • We just hired 3 new people at work.
  • Bad habits need to die. Like now.
  • "It's evolution, baby."
  • I miss drawing.
  • Living in Japan wouldn't be such a bad idea.

That's all I got for now. Time for some rice crackers. [Thanks, Mom!]

*poof* ...be gone, popup!

To those of you who had to deal with that annoying popup ad from "i-lead" while visiting this site, I terribly apologize for the trauma, but thankfully it's now G-O-N-E. With some investigating between me + the sis, Nedstat, which is now Stats4u, had breached their agreement of the lack of pop-up ads causing wherever I planted their code to pop open unwanted spam. I tested my blog template with + without the code + alas, Stats4u was the pesky culprit. What can I say? That's what I get for using *free* services. Boo for pop-ups! :P

Anyway, tonight the mister + I are going to yet another "Movie Night" at his campus with this month's movie being Walk the Line, which is awesome since that was on my list of movies to see. ^_^ As I've said *many* times past, free pizza + a movie is da best.

Oh yeh, a bit belated as far as this blog goes, but **Happy 1st Year** to me + J! Thanks to all our loved ones who sent us their awesome wishes via snail mail + online + for remembering our special day! I cannot believe it's been one whole year for us. Seriously. New experiences all around. As some of you have said, many more fun years definitely lie ahead. I am Mrs. happy camper. ;)

sittin' on muh heini with Heidi

Nothing too exciting, but here I am on a Saturday afternoon typing away on the wireless laptop in front of the tele watching back-to-back Project Runway. I wasn't ever into the show when Joshua first started watching it. I came in about 2/3rds into the show + I am nothing but HOOKED. I was on the edge of my seat last Wednesday night putting all my bets on Santino, thinking that night that they would reveal the winner, but of course it is to be continued till next Wednesday night. Ugh. ;) So, since they've been advertising repeatedly on the Bravo channel that they were showing a Project Runway marathon, I was excited--especially since I didn't catch the first part of the show to see the rest of the fashion designers who were booted early on. It's very inspiring to watch these designers go from concept to execution, something that people in my field have to deal with day in day out.

What I love best are the sketches these designers put down onto paper. They are so awesome to see. It makes me want to get back into drawing again, the one thing that defined me as an artist since I was in grade school. I really miss that part of my life when I would just sit + do nothing but draw what was in my head. Dang distracting computers. ;)

Anyway, I have been sitting on my touchee since noon with the wind blowing fiercely outside. The wind was blowing so hard that the rattling of our apartment windows actually woke me up earlier than usual on a Saturday morning, which is my day of the week to sleep in.

In other events, one of J's long-time friends from Tampa Jon came into town for business, so we decided to take him around the area + show him our city. All three of us ate dinner [Mexican + Peruvian] + drank coffee, so it was a nice treat to get out of the house + do something different during the week. :) For the most part, the guys were playing catch-up since they both go as far back as high school + they haven't seen each other in years. But, it still was a lot of fun hanging out with Jon because he + J were just hilarious to watch. Let's just say that I could tell they were friends as kids. ;)

Well, it's time to get back to watching the marathon. Just thought I'd post what's on my mind since it's been awhile. As Heidi Klum would say, "Buh-iiiii!"
