Tuesday, May 30, 2006Consumer I am.Thanks to the latest issue of Macworld sitting on my creative director's desk while waiting for work, I've got a new product crush called the gorillapod. ^_^ I must have it... ![]() I want this! Work is light + we love run-ons.I'm back from a well-rested 3-day weekend +, though I would rather be chilling at home, I just remind myself that this will be a short work week. Here's hoping... This weekend was our time for spring cleaning. J helped me organize my closet + weed out some of my older clothes that I don't use anymore to conserve space. Saturday, we rearranged the living room / dining room / study this weekend. It feels good to have a sort of "new" space since we'll call it home for at least another year. Who knows what will happen after that. Yesterday, my sis celebrated her *30th birthday* in the lovely country of Italy with my small circle o' friends. What a way to celebrate, huh? ^_^ They spent the last week + a half exploring the old country + just got back last night. I'm sure that they will have many stories + photos to share once we all get together again. :) With all that said... ..:{ HAPPY 30TH, ATE!! }:.. On a more somber note... When I returned to the office this morning, I was met with sad news. My two deskmates, Beast + Pinto, were found at the bottom of their tank. :'( The building's AC was turned off this Saturday + with the high 80-degree heat outside along with the tank heater, the water in the tank just got too hot for my poor bettas. I was so shocked to see them in their state this morning. My coworker's betta didn't survive the heat either. :( My bettas were the oldest of all our bettas, so they lived pretty long lives. ![]() Beast + Pinto, R.I.P. In other news, I've been experiencing a pinching pain in my lower back area for the past 4 days. It's so painful at times to the point where I need help getting up from a chair or from lying down. I know I have a minor case of scoliosis [a slight curvature of the spine for those who are unfamiliar], which is most likely causing it since I have not lifted anything heavy or sprained any back muscles this past weekend. J did all the heavy lifting when we rearranged the furniture. So, we went to an urgent care clinic yesterday to get help + advice. The doctor put me on some painkillers + muscle relaxers. Hopefully, I can kick this thing so I won't have to visit the doc again. :P That's pretty much all the news I can think of for now. Until the next time... Thursday, May 18, 2006The other side of tallYou know, it's about time the fashion industry began catering to folks like me. I'm seeing more + more stores like GAP + Banana Republic who are finally marketing towards "petite" consumers. They should have thought about this a long time ago! It's not like petite women around the world just popped out of no where. But, now that's it's here [+ hopefully it will be here to stay + continue to grow into other clothing stores] that makes me a happier consumer. ^_^ Back to work I go... Sunday, May 07, 2006 |
