Simba + Nala made the world-wide news!
Well... Not quite. But being mentioned in an e-newsletter counts in my mind. ;) I just had to post about this cute excerpt from Love of Dog Bakery's January e-Newsletter c/o my sis! :))) We want your Tastemonials!
December's favorite Tastemonial came from our old friends Simba & Nala in Jacksonville, Florida. Here's what their people had to say ...
"It's really uncanny. I get packages of yarn and books and Simba and Nala don't even notice. When I get a package from you, they *know* that the package is for them. They get super excited and Simba loses it. All of a sudden he is jumping on the countertop, when he knows better. He really never jumps on the counter, even when we are fixing him a plate of Thanksgiving turkey, that's how good he is. But all bets are off when he *knows* its from your bakery. Ooops! ;)"
Sorry to get you into trouble Simba! But we both know that these treats are totally worth it!
We LOVE to hear from you! Send in your dog's Tastemonial (hayle@loveofdogbakery.com) and we'll post it on our website and send you a small gift to say "thanks!" Add a picture and your dog just might make it into next month's e-newsletter!

Classy Spooky Pottery Barn?
Oddest choice of decor I've ever seen in PB's product line.I'm a little late in re-posting this, but I figured there's no better time than now since it is the first day of October. Pricey $tuff to get for just a once-a-year event, but if you entertain peeps on an annual basis then I guess it would be a good investment... or if you just like the flava of goth in your very own home. :) I do have to say they are done pretty well—not much of the cheese factor involved. Hmmm... So, is this what they mean by reinventing your business? Credit goes to invisiblecreature for blogging items that make me want to re-post their blog entries over + over again. I'm so original! But, wutev. I see it as spreadin' the word. Labels: creative, design, fall, firstpost, interior design

*Happy Birthday, Simba !!
Happy Birthday to my adorable, first ever mutt, Simbone! I sure miss that knucklehead. He's so smart that he acts dumb just to get away with everything. Like, for instance, eating an entire half-pound of peanut m&m's while everyone is away at work + managing to stash away the evidence [aka candy bag wrapper] underneath the coffee table. It all made sense once he upchucked [haha, always wanted to blog that word] his afternoon treat on the kitchen doormat. Nice going, Simba! ;D I do love that silly mutt. :))) Enjoy your berday, boy! Oh, I didn't blog the entire month o' May, man. Wussupwiddat? Hello June. NIN Ghosts I-IV
{ GET IT GET IT GET IT NOW } Nine Inch Nails presents Ghosts I - IV, a brand new 36 track instrumental collection available right now. Almost two hours of new music composed and recorded over an intense ten week period last fall, Ghosts I - IV sprawls Nine Inch Nails across a variety of new terrain.
Trent Reznor explains, "I've been considering and wanting to make this kind of record for years, but by its very nature it wouldn't have made sense until this point. This collection of music is the result of working from a very visual perspective - dressing imagined locations and scenarios with sound and texture; a soundtrack for daydreams. I'm very pleased with the result and the ability to present it directly to you without interference. I hope you enjoy the first four volumes of Ghosts."* referenced via NIN.comLabels: artists, band, firstpost, link, music, NIN, plug, promote

Pick your Pink. Play Your Part. End Breast Cancer."+++ On a very personal note... In June 2003, I underwent surgery to have a large tumor 2 inches in diameter removed from within my left side. When it grew noticeably large, I was really freaked out + too scared to figure out what I needed to do that I didn't tell anyone about it at first. I waited too long to have it checked. Then, I told my parents about it, + of course they were upset with me that I didn't tell them sooner. They said that our family really has no history concerning breast cancer, so that weirded me out even more. I was 25. I have been thanking the good Lord that the biopsy proved it benign. The doc called it a " giant Fibroadenoma", which is the most common benign breast tumors seen in women under the age of 35 years. It was the very first time I have ever been under the knife so it was quite nerve-racking. I wanted to recount what I was feeling during that time, so I leafed through my online journal archives + found the entry I wrote after it happened: out from under | 24 June 2k3 _ 01:01 p.m." The weekend _/ i am back from going under. everything went well for those of you who are aware. it all happened last Thursday afternoon. the 1.5 hours of preparation. the reading + the signing of the millions of papers. the waiting. "You're going to start to feel a bit relaxed, hon." photos to document to be picked up tomorrow evening. recovering from a deep sleep an hour or so later. very supportive family + friends. phone calls from distant + not-so-distant loved ones. much needed days off. first [+ hopefully last] time for everything. thank the lord for watching over everyone, meaning EVERYONE involved." To all the ladies out there, examine yourselves + be aware. PHOTO NOTES: _ 15 Sept 2k7 _ The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Labels: firstpost, life, link, memory, personal, promote
How does that happen?
7:30 am to 8:00 am kills me. In real time, that means thirty minutes or a half hour. In my world, it equates to a brisk 15 minutes. This battle has got to stop. Such drama drama. +_+P.S. Hello September. Hello chilly winds. Labels: fall, firstpost, life, personal, vent
// HPPY2K7 !!
Happy New Year everyone! 2006 has gone by really quickly for me. I thought it would slow down at least a bit considering how 2005 flew me by like a typhoon in Guam, but I was wrong. But still, life is good + the deity above has been very good to us. No complaints here. Yes, I realize I have been M.I.A. for quite some time + you are probably wanting a M.O. on my whereabouts. I promise I will fill you guys in on my whathaps—but not now. [haha] I've been out of town for a little under two weeks enjoying the company of loved ones far + wide for the holidays + am in desperate need to catch up on work, home, + the internet—in no specific order, of course. Some things worth mentioning... Sadly, J's maternal grandfather just had a stroke the other day, so any good thoughts + prayers you can send with mine will be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance. In lighter events, Mazzy just turned 100K miles this December. So proud. :) Uh huh, she is getting up there alright. So, as long as we treat her right + give her what she needs she will be with us for another 100K. That's all for now. My brain is not on empty—it's just in high gear. Back soon... P.S. I love em dashes. Labels: firstpost
