i just wanted to let everyone how the VAST show went last nite. me + my sis went over to the Edge2000 venue over here in jax. let me tell you again + again how bad our jacksonville crowd sucks--quite embarrassing to see less than half the friggin venue filled [if i'm even allowed to call it 'filled']. poor guys prolly won't come back to our pathetic town. they were in orlando the other nite + i should've went to that one instead.

anyway. the show was awesome. tho the crowd consisted of only a few, we cheered as loudly as we could for them. this is the 1st time i've seen VAST in concert, so of course i loved it--some constructive criticism: i wish he could've used his voice more since he has such a beautiful voice. every now + then, he'd skip out on the most intense parts of the songs.. sometimes he'd sing an octave lower when originally on the album he'd scream the part. mebbe it was due to the emptiness of people. who knows. but i enjoyed every minute of it + can't wait to see my next show with VAST.

me + oli did get a chance to meet him + the bassist Thomas a little after the show. he was real polite + interesting to talk to. he asked if we were either professional photographers or just taking all these photos for our own use + i just told him, "Well. A little bit of both." :) then he asked what i did, so i told him i was a web designer. soon after, virgos.cc was brought up when he asked me if i had a URL for him. so, my sis handed me a piece of paper to write down those URLs [i gave him both "Virgos.cc" + "The GreenRoom"] i asked him if he was familiar with Virgos and he said, "Yeh, actually we played with a Virgos Merlot a couple years ago. Are they still doing the contacts?" me, "No. They stopped that + the make-up soon as they lost one member and revised their name." jon, "Okay. Good. That was cheese. It took away from their music anyway." so after a little rubbing elbows, i figured we've used up enough of his time. we took photos + i had him sign my "Visual Audio Sensory Theatre" cd, then we hugged our goodbyes. it was great to finally meet him. he is an amazing musician.

just thought you VAST zealots wanted to know. :) oh yeh, the setlist, which i yoinked from one of the sound guys, is found up top.
back to photos.
