my sister, olivia, took these photos with her 35mm camera the same time i was taking photos with the digital. we were prolly bugging the hell outta those people standing next to us, being the shutterbugs that nite, but i'm sure the band didn't mind the support in our little big town/hole in the wall. we also had a chance to meet Jon Crosby + he was kind enough to take some time to chit chat with us after the show. He is incredibly nice. anyway, this is how it went:

me + my sis went to the Edge2000 to see Vast perform. it was a rather embarrassing turnout [the venue wasn't even partially filled], but the few of us there cheered as loud as we could for the band. it was an awesome show + i hope that they come back into town someday.

after the show, we waited around for the vast guys to come out.. had to wait awhile, but it was well worth it. it was funny cos it felt like we were the rock stars that nite. it started like this.. immediately after the show, i asked one of the soundguys onstage to grab me one of the setlists for me to keep as a souvenir. a little after as we were waiting, the same guy comes up to me + my sis + asks, "How are you doing? Did you need something?" me, "Oh, we're just waiting for the guys to come out." sound dude, "Oh, you can just ask that one guy holding the plate in his hand [pointing to a guy w/ long hair] + he can get you backstage." me, "No, that's oke. We're just gonna wait out here if that's cool." sound dude, "Alright then. Let me know if you need anything." later, the guy [that the sound dude pointed out] comes up to us + says, "Hi. I was told that you were looking for me?" me, "Uh, actually we're just waiting for the band to come out, that's all." long-haired guy, "Cool. I'm just going to go & take care of this guy first. But, they should be out in a couple of minutes." finally, jon crosby comes out from behind us + walks up to say, "Hello." for a change, the rock gods are approaching us mortals. *kidding*

so, after introducing ourselves, he asked if me + my sis were either professional photographers for a zine or if we were just doing this for fun. he was very a interesting guy to talk to. and he's only as old, erm, *young* as my sister. strange. i always thought he was so much older judging from his voice + from his appearance. during our conversation, he even mentioned the rock band Virgos Merlot. i thought that was cool that he knew of this band since my sister + i are both huge supporters of them. i wrote a quasi-review about the show in case you'd like to read it.

all in all.. enjoy these visuals, vastards + vitches.

i swear mr.crosby was amiable + smiling the time we talked with him. unfotunately, the photos show no proof of this. here are the captions for the photos the include jon + myself.

1 :: jon signing "To Kat, Jon Crosby" on my "V.A.S.T." cd. like an idiot, i left my "Music for People" cd in my work computer. [d'oh.]

2 :: ready for the shot? initially we were, but some of the stage crew were passing through the side doors to the area where we were chatting, causing jon to get distracted while i am caught in midblink. [d'oh #2.]

3 :: oke. ready for the shot with Crosby. but, wait. what happened to the grin? [final d'oh.]
